Bug Description
When I boot my (laptop)computer with the Ubuntu 6.10 or 7.04 desktop-cd it will crash as soon as it starts loading gnome.
I just get the brown background but nothing else. The systems freezes and the login tune keeps repetaing the first 10ms over and over again.
I'm able to install and work with Ubuntu 6.06 without any problems.

The sound repeating sounds a lot like a kernel bug to me; reassigning.
