Please describe the remaining Ubuntu changes in detail and how they have been addressed in Debian. [1] is pretty huge, and I do not see the corresponding changes in the Debian changelog (such as the removal of the ia64 patch and the changed Architecture: field)

Ubuntu patch also affects debian/rules file, its changes aren't available in Debian package.

I am under the impression that we are supposed to be minimizing the delta's from Debian wherever possible?

A lot of ia64 work went into the kdump10 patch apparently. kdump10 supersedes kdump9 so that is covered, and the changelog mentions the architecture fixups. So the only one not covered is the "clean up build" which again, I would say if we don't have to stray from Debian why would we? Is there a specific change that you feel is necessary that I have missed?

Thanks!

I don't know, that's why I'm asking in the first place. I'm not
familiar at all with this package.

I spoke with Ben Collins today and he would like to add some changes to the packages so I am rejecting this request. Thanks.
