Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

The entries in the menu's of F-Spot 0.3.3 stay grey, while they are enabled and you can click on them.

(Sorry I have the dutch translation, so maybe the text are a little different) But forexample File\Print is grey, like the entry is disabled, while I have selected a photo and I actually can click on File\Print and get the printer-settings as "expected".

I think this issue can also be gnome specific, because I now saw the starters in my panel also have this problem.

When I right click on a starter and unlock it, the entry "move" stays gray, eventhough I can select it to move the starter.

And my "start"-menu has similar failures. Sometimes being to short, sometimes showing entries with wite-text instead of black.

Please could you give a screen shot of what is greyed out as far as I can tell on mine it is only the tag stuff but I don't have any tags which is why.

Of course.

I definitely think this is gnome-related.

I made screenshots of me right-clicking on the shutdown-"starter" and you see the option to move it (verplaatsen) is grey, even though the starter isn't locked (vastzetten op paneel).

Sorry mixed the attachements up....

The one above is a picture of me clicking on the MainMenu, and you see the entry to install and remove software is in white letters, instead of black.

this one has the screenshots of me right-clicking on the shutdown-"starter" and you see the option to move it (verplaatsen) is grey, even though the starter isn't locked (vastzetten op paneel).

And finally a screenshot of the menu entry which I first noticed in f-spot

the menu has gray entries, while entries are enabled

The strange thing is that on my laptop (which also is running Feisty) doesn't have this problem.

I know one difference is that on my laptop I upgraded to Feisty with "update-manager -cd"
While on my Desktop, I had to upgrade by manually replace all occurences of "edgy" with "feisty" in the sources.list and run apt-get dist-upgrade

Many thanks for your assistance. With the images I hope that a solution maybe found.

Very strange error though.

Tell me if you need some more info, I'm not using Feisty only for the new features.

I'm glad that I could be of any help

This would point more towards a GTK+ or theme issue, rather than f-spot.
