SuperTux 0.3.0 is officially unsupported!

Presumably we'll have to remove this completely from the archives, as a start, then sync the debian version from unstable across (note that debian experimental has 0.3.0 as well)

(As there's no way to downgrade a package - the archive will reject a lower version number than what's already there.)

please note that 0.3.0 is in edgy-backports as well.

I should maybe point out that "DJ Wings" is in no way affiliated with the SuperTux project, although his/her posts on the Wiki and the Mailing List might make people believe otherwise.

Citing from the release notes, "SuperTux 0.3.0 [is] a preview of SuperTux Milestone 2 [... and] is by no means complete, but the game is already fun to play."

So, having it in the unstable/experimental branches of distributions is great, because that's just what it is: An unstable/experimental version meant for playtesting the engine and for doing compatibility testing.

My advice for stable branches would be to ship it as a separate "supertux2" package, because 0.3.0 will grow up to be Milestone 2, a version incompatible with SuperTux MS1 and with vastly different hardware requirements.

Please don't let some angry users deter you from keeping up the good work. The rest of the world appreciates what you're doing :-)

I was merely making a point that SuperTux 0.3 may fail to run, or run
unplayably slowly, on several computers, a point acknowledged several times
on the SuperTux mailing lists. Besides, the wiki disapproves of
shipping 0.3with distributions, and Ubuntu is no exception. Why don't
you read them?

As for not being affiliated with SuperTux: That is completely false. I have
contributed a new version of the "Salsa Con Carne" theme, beta-test, keep
the wiki clean, and have even created a character for the game. What have
you done that allows you to anonymously attack me on the mailing lists?

Ignore the duplicate entries.

A new package has been included in Ubuntu Feisty called `supertux-stable'. It contains the stable 0.1.3 version of SuperTux. Also, the `supertux' package has now a notice in its description warning that it's the beta version, and bugs should be expected.

Thank you for your efforts. This was the solution that most people involved with this issue had been hoping for, and, in my opinion, the best one.

supertux-stable is now in the repositories.
