Bug Description

The gnome-control-center info panel displays a GNOME logo with the GNOME version, the design team requested those to be replaced with the Ubuntu logo and version under Unity

Rodrigo said he would have a look to that, the change should be trivial since the Ubuntu version should come from lsb (it's an info already displayed in i.e lightdm and which doesn't need translation), the logo change should be trivial as well

Changed in gnome-control-center (Ubuntu Oneiric):
status: New → Confirmed
assignee: nobody → Rodrigo Moya (rodrigo-moya)
summary: - [UIFe] system informations should show the Ubuntu version
+ [UIFe] system informations should show the Ubuntu version and logo

+1 from Docs Team. I'd like to see both GNOME & Ubuntu version numbers in 12.04 but this is ok for now. (I in fact had been thinking about the missing disto version on this panel for several weeks since this info was present in System Monitor but I needed to find someone to code my design.)

Please contact the Translations Team (if you haven't already) to see if they approve. If the design is to show "Version 11.10" then I believe this will break translations since the string currently has the word "Version" and the number in the same string. Setting it to just "11.10" shouldn't though, but it may be less clear.

Is it possible to display both Ubuntu and GNOME versions? I think it's enough space there.

Also, it's duplicate of bug 688008, isn't it?
