[Feisty Herd 4] partitioner stalls for a long time

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

The partitioner appears to hang for a long time while scanning an ntfs partition, before resizing of this partition has been requested. The progress bar hangs at 60% during this period. Expected behaviour is for the progress bar to grow while scanning takes place, or for scanning to be postponed until the user requests resizing of the partitions. (Feisty herd 4, ubiquity, partitioner after selecting "manual").

Could you run the installer with 'ubiquity --debug', reproduce this, and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug, please?

I attempted to reproduce the error with --debug, but couldn't. I suspect I was short of RAM when I encountered the original problem. Ubiquity ran fluidly when launched as the first and only program after boot.
