Bug Description

I had the same problem with Herd3.
I already have some partitions for "Edgy" in my disk.

During the installation process (manually edit partition table) I could not prepare mount points. I made one partition to test "Feisty Herd4" but I could not tell to Ubuntu to use it as "/" neither to use the already existing "swap" partition.

It seems to miss a step during the installation when preparing the disk space manually.

This makes the installation fails.

Let me know if you need more informations.

Regards.

I can't really make out exactly what's going on from just this, I'm afraid. Please reproduce the problem and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman from the installer to this bug.

Please let me know if you can reproduce this:

1) Boot with the Live CD.
2) Begin the installation process.
3) ---
- "Step 1 of 8": Forward.

- "Step 2 of 8": "English" ->Forward.

- "Step 3 of 8": "Select Madrid" ->Forward.

- "Step 4 of 8": "Select Spain" -> Forward.

- "Step 5 of 8": "Select Manual" -> Forward.

After this step "Edgy" let you use "gparted" to have a look to your partitions but "Feisty" does not do it.

Then on the next step "Edgy" let you prepare the mount points but "Feisty" does not do it.

- "Step 5 of 8": "Select the partition you want to format" -> Forward.

- "Step 7 of 8": "Login, password info" -> Forward (Notice that there are two "Step 5" and there is not "Step 6").

Later I'll try to reproduce the installation failure and I'll send you the /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman files...
