Thanks for your bug report. Could you please give specific steps to reproduce this bug? What happens if you try to launch the hplip toolbox in other ways? (i.e. from the menu or from a command line) Thanks in advance.

Hi,
this the output when I launch "hp-toolbox" from console:

error: PyQt not installed. GUI not available. Exiting.
error: PyQt/Qt initialization error. Please check install of PyQt/Qt and try again.

Need you something more?

Could you please check and see if you have python-qt3 or python-qt4 installed? You could check via 'aptitude search python-qt'. Please add the output of that command to your bug report. Thanks in advance.

Thank you!
It was obvious it was that package missing!Who knows what I'm thinking sometimes:-)
Now it works!

In any case I've installed python-qt3 with:
 sudo apt-get install python-qt3

this package wasn't installed before.
Could you check if it's installed when the control center with HPlip toolbox is installed first time?
Like this we can assure nobody has this (silly) problem.

This bug is not a duplicate of #67892.
Bug #67892 is about duplicate HPLIP Toolbox entries in the gnome menu while bug #86893 is about the fact that nothing happens when the user clicks on the HPLIP Toolbox entry in the menu because python-qt3 is not installed.
