Bug Description

Ubuntu and Ubuntu Herd 4

During the installation process... when the screen is collecting information such as where to install / time zone / name and login-password info / etc...

Regarding the [ Forward ] button at bottom right....

If the mouse is left over that button after clicking it ... and when the next screen shows and the defaults are acceptable (for example 'New York' is fine) and there is no reason to move the mouse from off the button ... the [ Forward ] button will not function. You must slid the mouse off of the button first and then back onto the button ... once that is done it will now function.

This is for every screen of the installation process.

My screen resolution is 1024X768 and it maybe that at this resolution that when a few of the install screens flip as you step through them ... and just so happens that the [Forward] button appears at just about the same coordinance on the screen.

Note that in my trying several distros - and several re-installs of ubuntu LIVE CDs ... I noticed that the system time information is picked up by the new install (there must be something left over in the boot?? from the last install) and so I did not need to, once again, enter the time information I just accepted what automatically got picked up.

So this bug will (perhaps) not show up unless the screen resolution is just right and it is a reinstall. Otherwise - I think that most people move the mouse at every install screen and so that side-steps this bug.

Yes, this is a GTK bug, namely bug 22930. There's not much I can (reasonably) do about it in the installer.
