Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

During installation from the DesktopCD, newly created files saved to ~/Desktop/ were not copied across to the installed partition; and network-manage wifi settings were not carried over either (network, WEP key).

After copying has completely a message is displayed that anything /beyond/ this point will not be copied to the installed system. This message gives the impression that actions taken earlier and saved or configured would be migrated to the installed environment.

Ideally, the copying/installation should do the run on ~ubuntu/ as the last item to maintain maximum transferral of fully configured settings or created files.

This was a deliberate design decision. I'm not keen on the bug potential of having to migrate settings from the live session, considering that people will often mess about there expecting that they'll get a fresh install later and don't have to worry too much.

Acknowledged that the message is confusing.
