Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Currently the drop-down slider for the brightness-applet does not follow the state of the hardware, if the state of the hardware changes while the slider is open:
Add brightness-applet to panel
Click to open slider
Adjust brightness using Fn+PgUp/Fn+PgDn on ThinkPad or other equivalent brightness keys.
The slider does not move, but the on-screen head-up-display in the centre of the screen does correctly adjust in time.

I confirm this bug. I have a the same problem on my system (Thinkpad T60p):
the Brightness Applet changes the screen brightness and updates the on-screen pop-up window accordingly, if I move the (software) slider on the panel icon with the mouse. But the pop-up window and slider states do not change if I use the Fn keys (although the screen brightness does actually change).
