Bug Description

I did the following:

export http_proxy="http://...:8088"
export https_proxy="http://...:8088"

and

$ ./bugnumbers -p evolution
No bugs found.

Is it because of the tools not having https proxy support ?

Pappan, thanks for your report.
Can you please try this again with bugnumbers in ~bughelper.main (revno >=115)?

Markus

Markus, Emilio,

Sorry, I had been quite busy and did not have access to the machine where i
had seen the problem. I will get the access back again next week. At that
time i will test with the revision of bughelper markus mentioned and will
update the results.

Thanks a lot Pappan,
I'm not an expert in all these proxy-related things. but lets go through that two cases:
* I do understand the Error when you use a http proxy: in LP https is used so that might cause the error.
* I cant understand the error when you use the https proxy, maybe that proxy isn't a SSL enabled proxy?

I don't have access to a proxy, but I can reproduce this errors with public proxies:
* When I use a proxy with no https support I get an error

A possible conclusion is that either it's a problem with your proxy or LP is blocking proxies.

Pappan maybe it would help if you just check if you can access a LP page with your proxy used in your web-browser. If that works fine than its a problem of bughelper!

What do you and everyone else think?

Regards
Markus

The best solution (for the end user) would be to pick up the proxy settings from the gnome settings.
