Version 1.6.2 of pgadmin3 is available. It would be nice to have that version in Feisty.

As I'm sure you know, we're in UVF. Are there any particularly compelling reasons to upgrade? If so, please follow the UVF exception process.

This bug is just here to keep track of

a) Debian

and

b) to know that the pgadmin3 version is olllddddd :)

I also like to see this in Feisty. There are several tools for MySQL, but only one real good GUI tool for PostgreSQL (this one), so it would be nice, if this is up to date.
Also on the pgadmin website there are binaries for nearly all major distributions, but not for ubuntu. And it is not really easy to compile the source package. I didn't manage it (what really doesn't mean anything ;-))

pgadmin3 1.6.x isn't in debian beacause depends on
wxWidgets >= 2.7.x., this package is in ubuntu, so why not?

1.6.3 is the latest 'stable' version and 1.8.0 is approaching at its beta2 stage.

It would be great if any version newer than 1.4.* could be included gutsy.

Please note that the author has prepared debs for dapper and feisty.

Hi,

I'm the current maintainer of the debian package which is stalled by wxWidgets. I plan to upload upstream (see www.pgadmin.org) an unofficial package for ubuntu dapper and gutsy this WE. After what I'll concentrate my efforts into uploading a more proper and up to date package into universe.

  * debian/pgadmin3.docs: remove .TXT extension of docs as upstream no more use it
  * debian/pgadmin3.install: install /usr/share/pgadmin3/ui directory
  * debian/control:
      + add libxml2-dev and libxslt1-dev in build-dependencies
      + replace libwxgtk2.6-dev with libwxgtk2.8-dev
  * debian/rules: stop building TODO.txt as upstream now provides one
