Just restarted X server and it didn't restart, resorted to startx

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xrdb

I dont know I used 'sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart' and it never restarted. went to TTY1 and used startx. didn't try to reproduce as I am in the middle of an important project.

I got the same thing a few times, a while ago. I don't think there is anything left on my computer with information about the mistake.
