Bug Description

Binary package hint: language-pack-en

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of language-pack-en:
 language-pack-en depends on language-pack-en-base; however:
  Package language-pack-en-base is not installed.
dpkg: error processing language-pack-en (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 language-pack-en

but,

$ apt-cache policy language-pack-en-base
language-pack-en-base:
  Installed: 1:6.10+20061019
  Candidate: 1:7.04+20070313
  Version table:
     1:7.04+20070313 0

Works fine here. How did you do the upgrade? What does

  sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

show?

It was just a regular sudo aptitude upgrade.

A manual install (through apt-get install) of -base fixes the issue.
