Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Kind of a heisenbug, as I can't reproduce it reliably, but it's there and happens often. I'm reporting this through the 'report bug' dialog in gnome-terminal, so hopefully there is useful debugging information.

This bug appeared after the last two days updates. (3/13, 3/12)

I see this often too, many times a day. I use IRC via irssi->screen->ssh->gnome-terminal. So, I see the problem often when I switch from my irc desktop and back. I'll see if I can work out a reliable way to reproduce it.

I also have this problem... I can reproduce this by placing a window on top of the gnome-terminal (covering a small area of it) and changing the virtual desktop... When I come back to the desktop the gnome-terminal is black, i have to force the redraw (by changing tab, moving, ...)

I'm using transparency in the gnome-terminal and composite is disabled. This occurs with both fglrx and radeon drivers (ATI 9600).

I worked out how to reproduce this, and spoke with seb bacher about it today. He's talking with upstream to get it fixed.

I updated to vte 1:0.16.0-0ubuntu4, stopped all gnome-terminals and spawned a new one, but I still get the issue.

When I switch the virtual desktop out of the gnome-terminal and back again, most of the times it is blank.
