Subject: evolution: failed to migrate 1.4 data to 2.0

Package: evolution
Version: 2.0.1-1
Severity: important
Tags: experimental

I upgraded from Evolution 1.4 to 2.0, and none of my local data (mail
folders, contacts, calendar, tasks) were migrated.

After purging the package (apt-get --purge remove evolution), reinstalling evolution (1.4) from sid, and moving all my local Inbox subfolders to the top level (under an Archive folder), then re-upgrading to 2.0 (apt-get -t experimental install evolution), the migration tool worked fine.

Subject: evolution: failed to migrate 1.4 data to 2.0

Package: evolution
Version: 2.0.2-3jh
Severity: normal
Followup-For: Bug #276162

I had the same problem a few days ago after upgrading from 1.4 to 2.0:
IMAP folders and all accounts were migrated, but everything under
~/evolution/local (Inbox, folders, tasks) was missing. I reverted to 1.4.

Today I was going to try again. I ran 'strace evolution &>ev.strace' to
collect some debugging information and find some clue as to the problem,
but to my surprise all of my folders were there this time. Weird.

Hi Takuo,

Can you inspect this patch and apply it? Evo is the only GNOME 2.8
component with RC bugs right now.

If in a few days you can't do it, I might go ahead and NMU.

Thanks!

Attached the bugzilla patch, for convenience.
