Bug Description

Binary package hint: ez-ipupdate

New upstream version (http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/ez-ipupdate) ships Ubuntu deltas:
 * patch from Debian #361725 was included (see remote bug watch)
 * /var/run/ez-ipupdate creation in init file is handled by debian/postinst file

This needs proper merging.

Creating /var/run/ez-ipupdate/ in postinst isn't enough as /var/run/ is a tmpfs on Ubuntu. This means the dir will vanish after the next reboot and the init script tries to store a pidfile there. Therefore the init script has to take care that the dir exists before using it.

You're right. That directory needs to be generated each time.
Going for a merge instead, debdiff will follow soon. Thanks.
I'm going to provide such patch to Debian too in order to require a sync in the future.

   * debian/init:
     + Create state directory in the init script rather than in the postinst,

Sync request ACKed.

The Ubuntu changes were:
 - apply patch from Debian bug #361725
 - recreate /var/run/ez-ipupdate/ in the init script
=> all changes are included in the Debian package
