the retrace seems quite useless. pitti, may I ask you for comments why the stacktrace is useless here?

Reinhard, because vlc is not contained in the Dependencies:, so it does not get installed automatically. This again needs the /proc/pid/maps scanning feature. This one needs to be retraced manually (doing that in the DC chroots works, of course).

I installed the vlc package, but it doesn't get much better:

#0 0xb7d5c5c0 in vfprintf () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6
#1 0xb7d7e81c in vasprintf () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6
#2 0xaf18f67f in QueueMsg () from /usr/lib/libvlc.so.0

I do not have an idea why the printfs do not have symbols either; maybe too heavy optimization or so :(
