Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

When Desktop Effects are enabled, Items in the menu bar under "Preferences" and "Administration" are not highlighted when the mouse hovers over them. Experienced in Feisty 2007/03/21 on a 15" Powerbook with the radeon driver.

In this screenshot, my mouse is over the "Accessibility" entry and desktop effects are disabled.

Does adding Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true" to your Device section in xorg.conf fix the problem?

I haven't been able to replicate it after that, so this might be a duplicate of Bug #89189.
