In Microsoft Windows XP SP2 the total size is 496 MB and Ubuntu Edgy is 101MB. Somebody could explain me?

Thanks, leonardo.

The kernel is reporting the size of the drive correctly, "SCSI device sda: 1019617 512-byte hdwr sectors (522 MB)", where do you see that it is 101MB? It might be helpful if you attached a screenshot. Thanks again.

Used space is 82,6MB and the free space is 18,9MB. Pen-drive does not support more than 101MB.

Hi Brian,
This is not a HAL bug since HAL show the correct information for /dev/sda with lshal:

  volume.size = 522043904 (0x1f1dc200) (uint64)
  volume.num_blocks = 1019617 (0xf8ee1) (int)
  volume.block_size = 512 (0x200) (int)

May the reason be that a large amount of space is taken by the trash? Can you please empty the trash on the USB stick and check again?
