Clicking on the Network Manager icon in the task bar shows "Wired network: device not managed" which means the network can be configured and brought up as required by the Ethernet QA test in https:/

This would proably be fixed with "managed=true" in /etc/NetworkMan ager/NetworkMan ager.conf interfaces would work but would stop us having a working network until the device is fully booted. (And breaks non-desktop images which don't have Network Manager.)
Alternatively removing eth0 from /etc/network/
