Bug Description

Reported problems when it said only 2 minutes left to install and kept hanging with error reports. Then multiple firefox instances opened. Closed everything and most things seem to work but can't see Win machines on network, could be Norton again, will check

All the error reports said that the files couldn't be found in the specified directory, which obviously varied with the program concerned. Affected programs included open office. Everything seems to be working, including open office so I presume that the programs concerned are still using the pre update files.
The original install and update were with default directories, I didn't attempt to change anything.

Any other info I can provide?

As I said "the files couldn't be found in the specified directory" to install the program (not the exact wording but the sense).

It would be helpful if you could provide the log files found in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' as attachments to your bug report. Thanks again.
