Bug Description

When I run
sudo keystone-manage db_sync
I get:
db_sync is not a supported obj type
Within the doc OpenStack ManualsOpenStack Install and Deploy Manual - essex, I found on Page 5, there is

Lastly, initialize the new keystone database:
sudo keystone-manage db_sync

for us to initialize the database.
In fact, the db is automatically initialized when we start the keystone service. Perhaps keystone does not need the specific command to initialize th DB.
I suggest to remove the above content. It is really misleading.

I did not get this error when installing keystone using that documentation. Can you reproduce the problem?

Hi Anne,

Thank you for your reply.
Well, if db sync is not what we use, how do we create the tables of the
database?

Best wishes.

OpenStack Install and Deploy Manual.
Is the installation for ubuntu 12.04 only?
I have installed keystone on ubuntu 12.04 and found no issue. The issue I found happened when I was installing on Ubuntu 11.10.

Closing the bug, as the issue seems resolved for Vincent with Ubuntu 12.04, and we couldn't reproduce.
