Bug Description

While netbooting a machine with Warty final, I noticed some glitches:

 1) It asked me which mirror to use
 2) In the 'what mirror do you want to use' question/page it mentioned 'Debian
mirror' in the title
 3) It asked me if I wanted to install grub, even though this was a fresh install

oh, and:

4) the network config part didn't seem Ubuntu-ified, took ages for DHCP to
timeout, asked me about my domain name, etc.

and... (sorry)

5) pxeboot.tar.gz has lots of 'debian' references

I thought Tollef did a global search for Debian and fixed all of these branding
issues...did something get dropped?

Isn't the pxeboot.tar.gz stuff just "debian-installer", which is the name of the
software more than a reference to Debian?

The missing choose-mirror Ubuntu branding is fixed in Hoary.

It sounds as if you were at debconf priority high rather than critical. The
default critical priority is implemented in debian-cd rather than
debian-installer, so I see how you would end up at high when netbooting. I'll
fix that in my next debian-installer upload.

It seems some branding in Warty was done to a generated file, rather than the source
file; Colin has fixed this in the meantime for Hoary.

Priority issues fixed in debian-installer, which should take care of 1) as well.
If there's anything else, please file separate bugs. :-) Thanks.

debian-installer (20041027ubuntu3) hoary; urgency=low

  * build/boot/powerpc/yaboot.conf, build/boot/x86/syslinux.cfg: Add
    DEBCONF_PRIORITY=critical for non-expert modes (#3246). Remove obsolete
    devfs=mount,dall (rootskel has handled this forever).
  * doc/manual/build/buildone.sh: Remove status=checked/not-checked from
    i386 and powerpc; the text this generates doesn't make so much sense for
    Ubuntu.
