Sounds like kernel panic. Could you try verbose boot and tell us, what error message did kernel print?

i forgot to write the word "select" in "in the boot menu an option i SELECT shows..." sorry bout that. well id doesn't show a thing since my screen turns black. and my monitor says "No Signal" and goes to stand by mode.

tentatively suggesting this is ubiquity.

This may be a kernel thing, but doesnt have enough info.

Can't possibly be ubiquity since the installer hasn't been started yet.

HI BiruZ, now that the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release of Ubuntu is out, we were wondering if you can still reproduce this issue. Could you please download and try the new version of Ubuntu from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and report back your results. If the issue is still present in the new release, please attach the following information:

* uname -a > uname-a.log
* cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log

Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment. A digital photo for things like the dmesg output will suffice if you are unable to capture the actual output to a file. For more information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . And just an FYI, if you want to see the more verbose output when you boot you can try the following:

"Press 'Escape' key at the 3 second pause by Grub bootloader. Then press 'e' (edit) on the buggy kernel entry, followed by 'e' again on the kernel line. Then remove the splash and quiet keywords and press 'b' to boot."

Thanks again and we appreciate your help and feedback.

I think it's a problem with my burner or with the burning software because i ordered a Kubuntu 64 CD and it worked perfectly. I was using Nero6 in windows at the time. I'll download later and burn the new one with another software. Thanks.
