Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

When you change the Gtk theme through System > Preferences > Theme > Details > Controls, all instances of Firefox become unresponsive, and must be terminated. Subsequent openings of Firefox work fine.

This is likely to be caused by GNOME notifying all applications of the theme change and that they need to redraw.

Using Ubuntu Edgy, Firefox 2.0.0.3, GNOME 2.16.1 and Gtk+ 2.10.6

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Most likely a theme change bug dupe. Does it crash on you if you leave it alone long enough if so can you please attach the full crash report.

Well, i wanted to report the same Problem. What Information do you need?

The Testcase is simple: Open a Firefox instance. Download a large File and open something like YouTube. So Firefox is running and does something while you change the Desktop Theme.
Apply a new Theme. Firefox will break the running download, might hang or will crash.

Regards

Well, i will read that information, and then i might provide a crash report. I don't 'want' to crash my Browser right now.

I have inadvertently reproduced this twice in hardy. When I have time to close and crash my browser I'll try to get you a traceback.
