Bug Description

I tried to install Kubuntu Dapper Beta with the Live CD, and after the Identity part (like identified on the kubuntu) page it crashed. But When I restarted my computer it completly whiped my partition table whitout asking me. I didn't even touched the partitioner yet in the install process.

I had Kubuntu Breezy installed on a 250 GO Seagate and now I can't even acces the data that's was in there.

System:
AMD Athlon 3800+ Dual Core
1go Ram
Seagate 250 go
Kubuntu Breezy

Same happened to me - whole partition table wiped. Fortunately I was able to get it back using Knoppix with:

gpart -W /dev/hda /dev/hda

This is also bug 40464, so I'll mark it as a duplicate. I think I have a good handle on the problem now and should have it fixed soon; my apologies for the inconvenience and/or data loss caused.
