Unix DU wrapper written in python connected to a database. Normally it runs in 2 modes: --lookup mode, executes the Unix command "du -sk" on the directory and stores the data in the database. Or --cache mode, looks for the directory's size in the database first or else does a --lookup.
The purpose of this wrapper is to help system administrators to generate reports from large volumes of data (we work with 30TB a day) in a more efficiently fashion. The ideal usage for this script will be to run the script overnight or as a cron job and have the data stored in a database.
