It aims to create a conversion tool in Python 3 based initially on the Swiss Army Knife Audio/Video conversion tool Transcode but not only with this one. He will evolve too using some others greats conversion tools like Mencoder and FFmpeg but not only thoses. The other purpose of this project is to improve my knowledges in PyQt and the management of a project.
With this tool, you could convert any sorts of files in a lot of codecs and formats in a easy way for a lot of devices (same mobiles devices). It will use some presets but for people who need some specials specifications for a device particular, the user could create his own presets.
This tool will just not be based on FFmpeg or Mencoder. In fact, his heart will be based on Transcode and some externals tools like FFmpeg and Mjpegtools which will help him in this task. FFmpeg and Mencoder will be complete him (in a stand-alone application) and provide at eTranscode what he will miss him (i.e Transcode can not all convert unfortunately). Some others will joint us perhaps later (for sample MP4tools).
The features will be :
- convert audio format in another one (mp3, ogg, wav, aac,...)
- convert video file in another one (MPEG 1/2/4, Xvid/Dvix, Mov, MTS, , dv,....)
- support of several video formats ( MKV, MP4, Ogg Theora, WebM, 3gp, MPEG 2/4, Xvid,...)
- application some extra at a video (rotation, video Tag, Stabilize jiggled video,...)
The big purpose is to provide a unique, power and easy conversion tool in several domains (audio, video) and why not in some others (Photos, ....)
