GenHEP is a lightweight genetic programming library dedicated (but not limited) to High Energy physics applications. It can be strongly typed to allow the use of quantities physical units. The library is currently written in Python but might be extended with C routines in the future.
GenHEP is designed to solve various data analysis problems encountered in High Energy Physics. Note, however, that it could in principle be used in many other contexts where a lightweight strongly typed genetic programming library is required. The application is developed on Mac OS X 10.5 but should run on any platform with Python > 2.5. The application is currently under development, but first (beta) release will be posted soon. In the meantime, everybody can contribute to the development using the Bazaar VCS.
