Written for Gweled by Daniele Napolitano on 2024-03-29

The second version of Gweled, now in beta quality, has been released!

You can see the changments and download the source code here: https://launchpad.net/gweled/1.0/1.0-beta1

I expect very few changements in order to make the final 1.0 release and distribute Gweled of Flathub. Actually I'm unable to run the snap package I created, if someone can help of that will be geat!

Please, try the new 1.0 release to spot new bugs! Translations as well are welcomed.

Call for translators!

The final beta version it's near, but most of the translations must be updated. Now all the in-game messages are translatable.

You can do it just logging here on Launchpad and start traslate Gwleed in you own language: https://translations.launchpad.net/gweled

First 1.0 alpha released. Stay tuned!

Finally the first alpha release of the new version of Gweled it's here!

The game it's fully playable, the graphic uses Clutter so it is GPU accelerated (I hope Clutter will stay along us for a long time), the sound effects works fine and the scores are registered. Also the in game messages are finally rendered with Pango, so are fully translatable.

Give a try compiling from the tarball here: https://launchpad.net/gweled/1.0/1.0-alpha

There are still some bugs to address and fix before the final release. Stay tuned!

Gweled it's alive!

Hi everybody, I don't know who reads anymore news here on Launchpad. Anyway... I restarted the development of Gweled, porting the UI to Gtk3 (maybe 4) and Clutter for the graphics.

Until now Gweled compiles with Gtk3, shows the interface with headerbar UI, but with the main game and scores disabled.

Here a screenshot: https://i.ibb.co/DLjFcwM/Screenshot-from-2021-09-30-18-12-39.png

The next steps are to implement the Clutter canvas for the game and new scores handling (by user, not system wide).

I will upload the first code on git soon.

If the new version will be too much difficult to be done, I will release the current development version still based on Gtk2 which contain a lot of fixes, mostly the sound management.

Stay tuned!
