There are several apps for iPhoneOS-Plattform but I never found the one ready for "my mom". This approach tries to give control over most needed parts of MythTV via the Mobile Safari browser. You should only have to turn on the tv if you actually like to watch it, everything else (like program listings, recording a show, playing music) should be done via the mobile device only.
