IPv4 address reserves will all be used up in less than 2 years. Serious IPv6 deployment on the public Internet for use at home is going to be here in the next 12 months. It is going to be going fast from a Geek toy to something your Grandma will have to use. Most of the work for Ubuntu is already done, what is left is a whole pile of minor things, but it amounts to death from 1000 paper cuts.

(All software components are licensed under their own individual license, as this project is compiled of a medley of fixes that will make Lucid Linux function smoothly when using IPv6. The components in this project will comply with the Debian Free Software Guidelines or Ubuntu guidelines as appropriate. )
