An XMPP Component/Transport for XMPP itself, to maintain long term connections to a remote XMPP server and cache messages so that roving users can pick them up from various client connections.
JibberJabber maintains a connection to a remote XMPP server in order to:
- Cache messages that are sent while no connections exist to the local server
- Deliver cached messages separately to each local resource, allowing users to roam without risk of missing messages
- Provides a plugin architecture for customised handling of messages passing through the proxy
