In many application like, for example MySQL, the use of a Ram disk or tmpfs can provide very interesting performance benefit (the frosted side) but the limit in size of a Ram disk can cause problem. The goal of the project is to create a fuse wrapper around the tmpfs that will use a regular filesystem (healthy side) to extend the tmpfs once full.
The base of the project code will come from either unionfs-fuse of Radek Podgorny and Bernd Schubert or virtualfs-c++ of Victor Porton.
