netBeep is a collection of Perl scripts that enable you to make music using only your computers' internal speakers. It was designed to work over networks, allowing you to use many computers to play the music -- each one playing any number of parts.
This means you can have a whole Orchestra of computers and allows for chords and harmonies! You can use a standalone computer if you wish -- it won't show off the full potential of netBeep but it is a good place to start trying out the program.
A script that converts Nokia-style ring tones to netBeep music files (`scores') has been included. This should allow you to get started quickly by showing how familiar tunes `look' in netBeep score format. You could also arrange these ring tones for more than one computer to play.
