Offspring is a system that facilitates the building of system images by providing an abstraction layer around the image build tool, services to manage a farm of image builders, and a web interface to manage your projects.
There are 4 main components:
* Master: manages slaves and dispatches jobs (build requests) to the slaves. Jobs can be scheduled nightly or at a specific time of day.
* Slave: monitors the build of an OS image occurring on a build machine.
* Builder: provides abstraction layer and common functionality; a 'wrapper' around the build tool.
* Web controller: provides the web interfaces (end-user and administration). Users + admins interact with the build farm through the web interface.
