Open Police is an initiative to create a complete system that can be used by police in fighting crime and networking with local communities. This initiative will provide all the tools necessary for police even in remote parts of Africa to tap into a database of criminals on mobile phones or receive alerts of criminal activities happening in their jurisdiction.
In many developing countries, crime is one of the biggest problems which is faced by communities. This problem is made worse by the lack of ICT solutions available to organisations that fight crime.
