The goal of this project is to make the most popular roguelike games available in all languages. Please see the project homepage, which is hosted at wikibooks.org, for more information on translating roguelikes. This project was started in February 2006.

The project's first goal is to modify the source of one of the roguelikes to use GNU gettext. Perhaps this can be assisted by automatic means (a global source code search-and-replace tool), perhaps not. Perhaps it can be done collaboratively, by getting a roguelike's maintainer to create a source control branch for us and providing us with commit access.

Once this has started, we plan to write more about the project on our home page at Wikibooks, and to create a mailing list.

Our next goal is to start modifying the same roguelike to support grammatical constructs our chosen language.

Please email the project maintainer for more details.
