After an alarm has reset, most alarm systems fail to provide any exterior indication if it is "safe to enter" the premises, eg alarm triggered since last arming, or of power failure or other possible signs of tampering. They also focus on loud noises and flashing lights, that are triggered AFTER (or during) entry has been gained, they do not focus on warning off intruders in an external perimeter zone.
These advanced features are typically only available in some high end systems, that are typically very expensive and only available through an installer.
Project will use Launchpad as the primary team workspace to:
- Build on existing open source systems.
- Deliver, simple, cheap (eg <$30 delivered) hardware addon for core functions.
- Deliver additional modules to extend functionality.
- Deliver installation diagrams and documents aimed at non-technical users.
- Deliver succinct blueprints of the system hardware & software functions
