Scatterand combines a modular, web-based word processing script (Python/HTML/JavaScript), with a specialized, webkit-based client that provides a native interface to the JavaScript-based editing tools. The server-side scripts can run transparently in the background on your desktop machine (via python's HTTP server), or on e.g. an Apache web server (via WSGI). Scatterand documents are created from templates that can contain arbitrary HTML, so that it can also be used as a platform for creating a variety of document-based applications.
