Scotty is being developed by System76 to make it easier for our customers to write FreeDOS images for BIOS updates, and to write Ubuntu ISO images for our restore procedure.

The guiding principle of Scotty is minimize support liability. Expect it not to do much, but to do it extremely well. In particular, expect Scotty to have a low probability of human error in real world usage (because that's the goal).
