No, there is a long-standing bug that involves VMWare directly eating the
modifier keys; and then there is the bug originally reported, which has
something to do with gconf settings and I'm sure is unrelated to the VMWare
problem.

I've been running hardy since well before beta, and I don't see this problem
on my systems that don't run VMWare. :)
