Pascal, thanks a lot for your patch! I tested it and it works just fine. I built a test package (amd64 and i386, and source) on

  deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/packages/libgnomeprint/ ./
  deb-src http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/packages/libgnomeprint/ ./

just add this to /etc/apt/sources.list, sudo apt-get update, and upgrade. More test reports greatly appreciated!
