Installing a Dapper Drake i386 Server Edition on a VIA EPIA M10000 goes fine, but at the first reboot the kernel hangs just after the "Uncompressing linux.... Ok, booting the kernel" line.
I tried stripping "quiet" and "splash" options from the command line, but I don't get anything more after the "booting the kernel".
I have this problem with the kernel image that came from the install cd (linux-image-2.6.15-27-server, if I recall correctly) and also with the version I got from a dist-upgrade (linux-image-2.6.15-29-server).
I booted from a livecd, chrooted, installed the linux-image-686 package, and rebooted. Using that kernel works fine.
I have a similar issue, but with a "CPU too old" message, with the Gutsy 7.10 server edition on the same board - see bug #150728.
I got a similar problem, but without flashes.
