Can anyone that's experiencing this bug please try with the latest daily-live CD (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20100426.1/) or any CD in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/ that's newer than 20100426.1.

Let me know via this bug report whether or not the problem is fixed for you. If the crash is still occurring, please put a 'set -x' in the migration-assistant scripts and attach new logs, following the instructions I outlined in comment #36:
