Dennis, there's no /var/log/installer/syslog in Edgy, so you don't need to waste reporters' time looking for it.

A thanks! An updated DebuggingUbiquity page when such changes occur
would be nice though ;)

I have an ASUS P5VDC-X, which is very closely related. Dapper worked fine (aside from Via 880 chipset incompatibilities in the kernel).

Dapper>Edgy upgrade resulted in system freezes within X. The Xorg.0.log didn't have information on the crashes, though. Tested fglrx, ati, vesa and vga drivers. All experienced hard freezes once in X. X would start and bring me to the desktop, but doing anything (starting an application, moving a taskbar) would hard lock the system.

Tested again in the LiveCD environment, same results. Hard freeze when I try to do anything. So Edgy is uninstallable on this motherboard (for me).

Reverting to Dapper until this bug is squashed.

I had same problem with the release of 6.10.
I decided to triy to install with an IDE hard disk. No problems at all. I think this problem is related with VIA vt8251.

With Ubuntu-Feisty now I can install with SATA without problems at all.
