The goal of the WordPress Project is to produce a state-of-the-art personal publishing platform. The project developers and contributors are particularly committed to web standards.

The WordPress project is a successor to the b2/cafelog project. It includes contributors that work on code, design, user interaction and documentation.

The team has been growing since the early days of cafepress in 2001, and welcomes new members.
