I started out in technology working for a web content management company where I grew up. I moved from a developer to a systems engineer and never looked back, although I never lost my developer mindset. Who'd have thought that years later the DevOps paradigm would start and I finally had a name to give to my strange brand of systems automation by obscure scripts.

I am now an expert on OpenStack, Puppet, Chef and other cloud and orchestration techs and aim to use that expertise to help as many people and organisations as possible, navigate the minefield of cloud compute infrastructure. To further that goal I am now a member of the Hewlett Packard Helion PS Architecture team.

I also have a fairly storage focused background cutting my teeth on most of the major vendor kit in customer scenarios as well as some time on the other side of the fence. For my sins I am a member of the UK committee for the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) and contribute to papers and presentations on their behalf.
